Community Care Clinic Week 2022

Aug 05, 2022

Community Care Clinic Week is an annual, week-long celebration in mid-August (August 7 – 13, 2022) to highlight the innovative community-based health care that is giving Kansans in need the chance to lead healthy, productive lives.

Community Care clinics, such as HealthCore Clinic, provide comprehensive medical, dental and behavioral healthcare to approximately 1 in 9 Kansans. In some towns, community care clinics are the only Medicaid providers, and in some towns Community Care clinics are the largest employers. For all these reasons and more, we celebrate Community Care Clinic Week with a variety of activities statewide.

Community Care Clinic Week in Kansas is celebrated in concurrence with National Health Center Week – the recognition of Community, Migrant, Homeless, and Public Housing Health Centers nationwide. Health centers began as a pilot project during President Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty. Their more than 50-year record of success not only includes preventing illness in underserved populations, but also moving beyond traditional medicine to provide innovative whole-person solutions to correlational health indicators, such as lack of nutrition, mental illness, homelessness and addiction.

Stakeholder Appreciation Day

Health centers have a proud tradition of support from both sides of the political aisle. Bipartisan support continues to be beneficial for advocacy and policy priorities. Legislative support on both sides is not limited to federal level, state and local support for health centers are also integral to their success.

Today, we celebrate legislative support from our local, state, and federal government and policymakers. Thank you for your bi-partisan support for the health and wellness of all Kansans.

HealthCore Clinic would specifically like to recognize:

Hoy, celebramos el apoyo legislativo de nuestro gobierno y legisladores locales, estatales y federales. Gracias por su apoyo bipartidista a la salud y el bienestar de todos los habitantes de Kansas.
